um, what are you talking about? french is just as present as spanish or english, and at one point a century or two ago it was the dominant language to be learned (like english is now). and many would argue how it's a much more elegant language than spanish and many others. salut

I dont care if it's elegant, it's not practical. Half of the letters in a word aren't pronounced, there is no phoneticism at all. Now, in japanese, every partical is always pronounced the same way, and they are all pronounced.

Also, the only reason it was ther dominant language was because France was, like other European nations, a power hungry military state bent on nothing short of world domination.
