Little known fact: The Cuesta grade repurposes many cars every year.

I used to count the dead ones off to the side of the road on the weekends I traveled from SLO to Fresno for games. There's an awesome quality about the burnt-out cars that aren't removed fast enough: they're magic seeds. If a dead vehicle was present on Friday night as I was heading up, by Sunday evening the seeder car had bloomed into a car bush, proudly displaying iron and fiberglass blossoms of all shapes and colors to passing motorists. All over the grade there would be exuberant bursts of color in pockets.

Red sports cars, lime green minivans, electric blue compact cars and a wide array of other colorful status symbols could all sprout in a matter of days from one primer-coated Plymouth with a blown radiator. The world is a magical place.

The reason you couldn't hear the woman next to the moron was that she was biting her tongue and mumbling, "shut up you freakin' retard." Had you seen her from the front, you may have noticed the blood trickling from her mouth. Next time, we need to send you home with a large bat. Miss you lots. XO
