If you could live anywhere, where would you and why?I'm tempted to say in a holosuite, so that I'd never be bored and I could visit the mountains in the summer, the shore in the winter...but it wouldn't be real. And I can't think of any single physical location that would give me everything I want, otherwise...so I suppose it doesn't matter where I

An interesting answer I never thought of that one myself. I think it would be nice to live in the holosuite for a time but after awhile I'd be afraid it would distort your sense of what is real and what isn't. Besides as you said it's not the same as the real thing. It would lack the smell, the aura the smaller things that defines reality.
If there is one place you should visit I would definatly suggest Betazed. I've been there a few times myself during my days with the Dominion. It is a beautiful world to put it mildly. I think there is nothing I miss about the Dominion save for my brief time I spent there...I've been told that in the ancient days Cardassia used to have massive trees like the ones found there. That is proberbly the only thing I miss about being Legate to the Dominion; being able to spend time there...
I wonder whether I could bear to see Cardassia again...to see Garak,I'm glad to hear Garak survived the war...If you don't mind my asking how is he doing? Or have you not spoken to ( ... )

Betazed...I don't think I'm ready to see it. I'm still so angry about what was done there during the war, and in truth, Damar, I'm furious that the Cardassians allowed the Dominion to take advantage of that peaceful world and its people...
Yes, Garak survived the war, though I wasn't sure you'd actually be glad about that, or at least admit to it. *smiles, humored* He seems to be doing as well as expected...working very hard, trying to prevent a resurgence of the old hostilities. Dr. Bashir communicates with him far more often than I do.
And any time you get nostalgic for going over thirty Ferengi export permits, just let me know...I'd be happy to let you take over the paperwork!

Really? I wasn't aware. Yet I can see how tempting it would be especially when you consider everything that is or was in your case going on.

And that, of course, justifies leading the Dominion there. Because your people needed resources. The needs of the people of Betazed were naturally irrelevant, just as the people of Bajor were irrelevant during the Occupation except as slave labor. Damar, how can you expect me of all people to swallow this sort of justification! You want to claim the Dominion held phasers to your heads and said "Take us to a planet rich in resources," I still won't justify it but I might understand it. But you expect my sympathy over your trying to solidify your own position by invading a peaceful world?
I trust now that the Dominion in your universe has been destroyed, that Betazed is no longer under Cardassian rule?
Thankfully, no. It's going to take almost as long for them to rebuild as it will take Cardassia, however.
