If you could invent a holiday, what and when would it be? What special traditions would take place on that day? It's too soon to discuss - the war is too recently past - but there should be a yearly festival to commemorate its end, celebrated by all the worlds of the Alpha Quadrant that came together to fight the Dominion. I was actually about to give the exact answer to this question as you have. I don't know if I should be impressed or frightened.
Smirks slightly

Since the end of the war has there been any memorials set in place to commemerate those who died during this dark time? Not necessarly a celebration but some sort of unified gathering to honor both the fallen and the survivors?

The humans have a saying, "Great minds think alike." *smirks* I don't believe they would ever have meant it to apply to a Bajoran and a Cardassian, however.

There have been numerous memorials on nearly every world involved in the war, but not a unified gathering of all the allies; in fact some of the old animosities began to reappear within weeks of the end of the war. I don't know why this should surprise me, let alone make me sad.

I don't think I've ever heard of that saying before myself. Unusual but certainly suitable if I don't say so myself. If not ironic.

So old enemies have returned to their warring again? So soon after commiting a great victory...Thats dissipointing. I thought that we'd learn from our mistakes of the past and even realize the power that would come from our unity. But somehow this doesn't surprise me.

I dont suppose things have improved a little amongst our peoples has it? Or have we too returned to our roots of hatred as well?

Tries to hide the fact this bothers him more then he wants to admit. So much for progress he thinks to himself darkly.

Oh, things are better among our peoples. Our provisional governments are on speaking terms. It's understood on Bajor now that Dukat was mad, and that Cardassians as a whole are not responsible for some of his worst excesses. I won't lie to you: there is still a lot of hatred and resentment. But things are better among our peoples than, say, between the Federation and the Romulans at present.
