What's a typical day for you? and If you knew that the universe would end tomorrow, what would you do today? At present it's relentless stress over things that should be trivial matters: new docking procedures, weapons permits, new security protocols, overseeing the removal of restrictions on wartime commerce...all things that are signs of progress ( Read more... )

I'm sure they understand your situation. After all with the war finally ending I'm sure everyone is busy trying to return their lives back to some sort of normalacy. But I can relate to your situation but on a different level of course. With our preparations against the Dominion's main headquarters and the latest events involving Londo I have had little time to much else.

But I think it would be wise for you to take a break from your busy schedule before you burn out. I hardly think a quiet evening watching the stars is considered selfish, escpecially if it helps you unwind from work. I know it is something I've observed even in my universe you've always had trouble allowing yourself to relax. Even when things are quiet you are unsettled. Perhaps Ezri is correct, although ironically enough weren't you just telling me that I should try and put the past behind?

Of course this is easier said then done. But I think we both know that already...

Even if Ezri is correct...what choice is there? I hardly think I could enjoy watching the stars while worrying about who may be attacking whom out among them, or carrying dangerous equipment or meddling with the Celestial Temple. It's the companionship I miss...Odo's, Benjamin's, even Worf's.

*Chuckles*

Perhaps you need to learn how to put it behind you even for a time. Just enjoy the moment for what it is. Of course it's easier said then done.

He goes quiet trying to envision her having a quiet moment with Worf of all people and isn't able to resist a laugh.

Somehow I can't picture you with Worf under the stars. I think what you need is to be in a situation where you can't think about such things. Where your too far away from troubles. Unfortantly I can't think of a place outside the holsuite that would provide you with that.

But if a friend is what you are looking for then might I suggest joining you for "coffee" as you aptly put it? I may not be the same caliber of companionship as lets say Captain Sisko or Worf but at least I'm not as annoying as some.

Smiles slightly.

I'd be happy to join you for...well, I'd prefer rakhtajino as I've never acquired a taste for coffee. And as you know, we do have holosuites on the station, and I'll twist Quark's ear if he won't drop the charges.
