I covered city council tonight. It was insane. I've never felt like such an incompitent person ever. I'm convincing all my editors to make sure to tell the assignment editor how awful I was (even though they didn't think I was that bad) to ensure that I never have to do this again

The first few times I covered city council I felt pretty incompetent. It does get easier, if you're interested.

Where did you go kayaking? I'm jealous - not that I could get in and out of a kayak right now, but I would love to be able to go.

Josh and Kay have a cabin on Kennebecasis Island. You need to take a ferry to the peninsula from millidgeville and then another ferry to this issolated island without electricity. It's really quite quaint. We went kayaking along the KV river amid the big boats etc. Very fun.

AS for council I don't want to like it. I don't want to be good at it because I don't want to be locked into doing it. I fear they will send me every two weeks and then forget that I'm supposed to only be on loan to the city section for the summer and am to do important investigative things the rest of the time.

Ah, I know the island, though I don't think I've ever been on it.

I can understand not wanting to like it. I do end up with things I don't want at work, but with three of us in the Sherbrooke office, it's not like I can help it. But rally away from council! And, hey, you can still go to breakfast at Reggie's and catch the morning gossip. And have a milkshake with your eggs and montreal bagel.
