It is Christmas Eve and appropriately cold. I'm working tonight, from midnight until 8am Christmas morning which isn't as terrible as it sounds. The watch I am standing isn't hard, I just sit around and make sure the barracks don't catch on fire, or no drunks make a scene. Other than that I can sit and read or play video games or whatever, just so ( Read more... )

Alright Colby, I do not like the cam from my knowledge of camrecorders but I asked Pat for his opinion because he is "the man" (IMO)

He says to get a Sonycam (Handy Cam) DVR. Plus he says Fisher "makes 'bottomline'" products. Hesa Sony man, for the most part. Not in taste but in pocket. What are some others that you are looking at?

Ok, I've done some homework and I agree. I liked the Fischercam I showed you because it is small and easy to use and I wanted a camcorder that was both portable and easy. Price and effeciency were not major players in my desicion. Most of the folks I have spoken with have told me the Sony Handycam is the way to go, your vote clinches it.

Right now I'm not in the camcorder frame of mind anymore. I decided instead to get an analog film camera and not go cheap. I purchased for myself tonight a Cannon Rebel EOS (it isn't digital) so that I can get better at nondigital photography. Having an analog camera will make me put more effort into taking better pictures and therefore make me a better photographer. Any advice on lenses? Unfortunately, Cannon does not make many attachments that will fit my Finepix digi. Happy New Year mate!

I have a friend, Chris Whitley, he is in the Navy, and in Italy, my firend got to go to my dream place, before me, I am jealous, but seeing as you got to go Japan before me, you might as well go to Italy too, then at least I can say, others are living out my dreams, not the military part of it, but the sight seeing. Please take a lot of photgraphs, and post them on Livejournal, I'm so intersted in seeing the beauty of different places and cultures. I would pay you if I could, and if you go to Italy, please take more photos. I'm too curious in nature to not know how beautiful it could all be, and I would hate to miss beauty just because I can't be there physically to enjoy it.

I complain about how different it is alot but Japan really isn't so bad. It is very different though, and the ure barriers are sometimes a little too much to adjust to. I'll say this, Japan would be a nice place to visit for a few weeks, but two years is a bit excessive. I've never had the zeal for Asian ways to the extent that I have European. Italy would be so nice.
I do take lots of pictures though. I'm something of a photography enthusiast, I take my digital with me everywhere. I posted a link to a photobucket account in my most recent entry so feel free to check it out. I try to put more and more pictures into it when I have time. I certainly have more than what has been listed already.
It is nice to know people are reading my journal that I don't know about. How did you come by it?
Happy New Year, .
