You gotta do what you gotta do, right? I'm sure he thought what he was doing was right at the time. Besides, the Catholic church took a platform of noninvolvment when it came to the dealings of the thrird reich back then. Patriotism is a thing to be admired in a man. As long as he didn't stuff any Jews into an oven I'll look past the flak he gave our B-17s.
