Security Footage “Is he gone?”
“Yeah.”
“Should I be considering never going outside or near windows again? Or just requesting a transfer to, say, the Arctic Circle?”
“No.”
“Really? Uh, why not?”
“He was just returning your sunglasses.”
“Oh.”
“That’s what I said.”
“Thanks.”
“Yeah, Edgerton, David and Don all think I’m completely insane now, by the way.”
“Sorry about that.”
“Not finished. David and Don know about your date now.”
“What? How?”
“Well, Edgerton told David and then David blurted it out to Don. He got an elbow to the ribs for that.”
“Thanks. I am never going to live this down, am I?”
“Probably not.”
“Damn.”
“You know, the mockery wouldn’t have been so bad if you hadn’t literally tripped over your chair and practically mowed David down in the most ungraceful manor ever in your rush to get the hell out of dodge.”
“Yeah, I’ll admit that that was kind of…”
“Girly?”
“Yeah. But in my defense, killing people from a distance is a special skill of Edgerton’s.”
“Okay, that is a fair point. And speaking of, Edgerton did say that he would actually kill you if you ever touched his sister again.”
“And you wonder why I ran away like a little girl?”
“Hey, I didn’t say it wasn’t justified, just that it was funny as hell.”
“Excuse me, Agent Reeves? I got the security footage you requested.”
“Thanks, Matt.”
“Megan, you didn’t.”
“I did.”
“How much?”
“Oh, no. This is far too priceless.”
“Megan, what are you going to do with those?”
“You’ll see.”
“Maybe I should consider that Arctic Circle transfer after all.”
