“Sam, no!” Jules exclaimed, trying to ignore the pleading look in Sam’s eyes.
“Come on, please, Jules?” he practically begged, before trying a new approach. “Do you trust me, sweetheart?” he asked and underneath the playful tone she could hear sincerity of the question and she sighed, defeated.
“Yes.”
“I won’t let you fall, I promise,” he told her excitedly, handing over the skates.
“You better not,” she growled without any real heat, the happy smile dancing across his face at the prospect of teaching her to ice skate made it worth it even if she fell a hundred times.
