Perfect Together

Pizza, beer and a bad movie on her couch. Date night. Now “friendly hang out night”. The only real difference now was that he slept on the couch and there was no sex.

They still carpooled to work together most days, though their stealth entry techniques had gone out the window. Greg had mentioned it once and Jules had pointed out that he frequently carpooled with Ed and then asked if they were sleeping together while Sam had stood behind her, head bent as he bit his lip to keep from laughing.

They still partnered in the field, Ed and Greg having realized that they worked best together.

They were comfortable with each other, regularly crossing the line of what most people would consider appropriate behavior with a coworker, but no one commented.

At some point, Greg and Ed had stopped worrying about it and just trusted them to stay professional. The others never even knew they’d ever been anything more than good friends.

Spike had once joked that if they just had sex, they’d make the perfect couple. Luckily the others, sans Ed and Greg, were too busy laughing to notice the look they exchanged.

If only Spike knew.
