My dad met Tim Freeman. They talked about how amazing the body is and how the phosphates in mexican beer make their sinuses "back up".
Sometimes all I want is to be an old man.

This is right up my bowling alley, so you must suffer another comment.

I take care of slightly demented old people. My grandparents. Everyday. I make meals, wash dishes, do laundry, retrieve bread crusts, and pick up tissues that never make it into the bin. After enduring endless conversations about body ailments and imaginary food allergies ("peaches make my ankles swell"), I have begun to find pleasure in it. So much so, that I feel like an old man. Last winter, I sported a sweater-vest and hand-me-down golf pants to school. I have a cane. I smoke cigars. I often take my grandfather to the cafeteria and join the vets for coffee. I enjoy talking about the weather. And so on.

i like to think of myself as a slightly demented old person. the proof is in the pudding. i once had a 30 minute conversation about the vulgarity of "young people's" fashion with the guy behind the register at the local liquor store. he gave me his card if i ever needed something delivered on a sunday.
