The UK health system has some serious flaws as well. When I studied abroad in London my friend needed an ambulance and it took 45 minutes to arrive because they don't have enough available. That wouldn't have been the case here. When we arrived at the doctor in London we had to wait another 2 hours. This wasn't because we were from the US either as they never even asked until the very end.
I think the US would do much better with a public health care system though.
In terms of food I remember being really frustrated at the lack of Mexican food in the UK. Actually had my mom mail me some black beans and made burritos one day :P
