Popular Song Lyrics, If Only They Had Been Written By Someone As Cool As Me

Not to be all like 'ooh look how out of touch with popular culture I am, I just don't have a clue,' but I had to look up two of those even though you basically gave them in the last line. I simply hadn't heard Dizzy (which is strange because I have always liked him. But Bonkers, eurgh, it's a bit rich in artificial additives, isn't it...) or the Black Eyed Peas (maybe it's a grower, but that just seems like a really weak effort to me. There's seemingly nothing explosive about it, musically, just a bit of anaemic auto-tuning and a pedestrian trance section). So you're basically my main pop music information source now.

Regardless, I liked these, not least because I find myself doing a similar thing when left to my own devices.

My favourite recent reworking though, received via Twitter, was of Andrew WK: "WHEN IT'S TIME TO REPARTEE WE WILL ALWAYS REPARTEE HARD"
(the original, just in case: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WccfbPQNMbg )

My last paramour was fond of popular music of this sort. Except for the Katy Perry, that's my own little dirty secret.

Well done.

If I were thus inclined I might be able to mimic such a paragraph in reference to Katy Perry and Snoop Dog's latest collaborative effort, but my creative juices have been impaired by the daily surrealistic work environment I suffer through.

Why didn't Dali write pop music?
