Successfully defended my dissertation today

I am now officially a Doctor of Education. I texted my dad to tell him. Some kind of congratulatory response would have been nice, but I'm not in the least bit surprised that he didn't reply. This is par for the course with him. It was a good three months after I called him to tell him I was getting married that he finally got around to calling me
