icons and a fucked planet

Okay. So I was supposed to get the fic up today. Except that it's probably going to have to be tomorrow. It's Arthur/Eames (no, I am not committing to either ship, I ship everyone even though I guiltily note I have been inching towards the Arthur/Cobb side. Bit by bit.) and it's a testament to the fact I watched way too much Slumdog Millionaire in ( Read more... )

It doesn't matter how many times I've heard it---I will never ever stop loving that Douglas quote. And to see it applied to Arthur/Cobb? Amazing. Very nice icons you have here!

Also, THE SNEAKY CATULLUS REFERENCE. I'm such a nerd for Catullus, whether it's love poetry or invective. I've seen Catullus come up a few times in the fandom now, and each time I'm like, "OH MY GOD, WHY ARE YOU GUYS SO AWESOME???" because I can barely get other students of Latin enthused about the guy, lol.

I find new reasons to think you're awesome every time you update, so don't stress about the figure eights. Just laugh it off. ;)

I had a high level of respect for you. THEN. You went and broke my respect-meter because it's not equipped to deal with such large amounts of respect.

You love the Douglas quote and Catullus <3 This makes you absolutely awesome XD It is SAD if you can hardly get other students of Latin enthused about him ): I wanted to do a 'Vivamus, mea Lesbia' icon but I considered the possible effects of people going O.O and immediately thinking 'lesbian' rather than what it really meant.

LOL I'll laugh the figure eights off after I troubleshoot the planet question ;) It's bugging me.

And thanks! Am pretty glad you like the icons XD

I wanted to die when someone actually giggled at that in my university course. PLEASE BE GROWING UP, CHILDREN.

There's just something to be said for poetry that resonates more than two thousand years later. Catullus is just so incredibly universal with such modern sensibilities. Love him!

Oh god -.-''' Then again, we had people giggling on and off everytime the lecturer mentioned 'siemens' in electrical engineering, so I suppose it's...disturbingly common.

Yep! And it helped I read an analysis on it :P No, but seriously - he doesn't necessarily have that musical sense ot his poetry that Gibran or A.S. Ali have, but there's still something so profoundly powerful and moving about it all that makes me love his stuff (:
