I wanted to comment here rather on the story proper because, as much as I loved this story and your inventive and oh-so-true incarnations, I also wanted to mention a piece you might like to read--something that fits in rather unintentionally with this story and the inspiration behind it. It's by Stephane Mallarme, called A Throw of the Dice--a poem that dances across the page. The pervading theme is as follows: "A throw of the dice will never abolish chance."

That was all I could think of, after reading this story. (I am also a huge Stoppard fan, so thank you, thank you, on all counts.)
