Eames feels as if he’s looking down a distant tunnel at a stranger - a few seconds before impact.
So good! And this!
There’s something else he can’t quite identify; green-washed shadows inked in a dark verdant tattoo across his heart, spiraling in cold malachite patterns.
*flail* I am admiring you so hard right now. Words cannot even express, etc.

I've always thought that Emaes' professional side gets just a bit glossed over, but I've always liked that interesting dichotomy in Eames, between how professional he can be and how he has loyalty.
I'm glad you liked this (:

Inquiring minds want to know. I love how Eames tries to use this as leverage in getting Arthur to do what he wants. And it's not just that he's pissed about Arthur's remarkable lack of concern for his own survival, is it? He's angry because he thinks Arthur wouldn't do the same for him, either.
I know I write my Eames so ridiculously fluffy and mushy inside, but I really enjoy the way you've portrayed him here. Eames just does not operate under the same loyalty/honor code that Arthur seems to, given his attachment to Cobb. Eames seems much more the type to be loyal to his own ends.
This was a very interesting look at character, here, to see that what comes so naturally to them in the dreamscape is difficult as all hell when Arthur is expected to do it in real life.
You write such lovely little drabbles!

Did I mention I love the way you can pick up on exactly what I'd intended? :D Yep! That was the bit I was trying to sneak in! ;)
I like your lighthearted, fluffy/mushy Eames, actually. That's generally how I can buy him, but I wanted an alternative that was darker and edgier - a darker Eames interpretation, if you will.
*blushes* Glad you liked it and all, really :D I just whacked this out real fast. I blame the stress.

Dark interpretations are pretty much amazing, especially when they're executed this well that there's not even a question of whether or not it's in-character for a character to do so.
And there really isn't, here. It's just a fact. The end.
Fic-writing has become my stress response, too, lol. It's really good---I really enjoyed it. Amazing things you can do in such a short time. :)

Yeah. The difficulty is always in the execution, because sometimes, it just doesn't work out. I guess it has to do with the reader's threshold and just how much of a dark edge the character has? :/
Thanks *blushes*
IKR about the stress response! Now I'm just so scared I'll like scribble a drabble midpaper because I'm too stressed to handle stuff ;)
