a short break

So, I pretty much took this weekend "off" from schoolwork to relax.

Thursday I went to Best Buy (a different one that usual) with my brother and basically just looked around. We stopped over at my sister's house to see her new fridge and couch and to play with her dogs. After that we ordered some chinese and I spent all the money in my wallet paying for it, heh.

All I managed to do for most of the day on Friday was sit in a darkened room and listen to Isis while it rained outside...more enjoyable than you would think, haha. I was about to take a nap when my brother got home from work and asked if I wanted to go play poker with some of his friends. So I took a nap anyway and we did that. I didn't do that bad for it being the first time i've ever played Texas Hold 'Em. I managed to stay in longer than my brother even though I lost like $8 of his money, oops. There were only three people left playing after me and they were still at it by the time we got out of there, so eh.

Saturday we went to Eide's and The Church Brew Works. Both of those places are always worth the trip to Pittsburgh. Eide's was having an anniversary sale so everything was marked down. It was 20% off new CDs and 40% off used. There was some good stuff in the used section, lots of used but like new CDs. I picked up Primordial - Spirit the Earth Aflame for like $4.80 and Shape of Despair - Angels of Distress for about $2, both nearly perfect. I wasn't thinking and was only trying to use the money I had in my wallet. I probably could have picked up another CD or two for under $20 total and just used my debit card, but it was too late to look around some more when I realized it, heh. I probably should have grabbed Rapture - Futile for the $8 I saw it at. My brother got a good deal on a few things as well, two Primordial albums, Bloodbath, Pelican, and others I forget. We planned on going to see Sin City at some point, but that didn't really work out, ah well.

I still have homework to do, but it was worth it. I needed to do something. Too much stress I guess. I've got so much stuff in my head lately. Mostly the same things that have been there for a while, I just feel like I can possibly accomplish some of the things I want (and need) to do...soon.
So, back to school work after this. There's not much left, but it's the last block of things to do. I am going to a concert on Tuesday though, which should be pretty nice considering it's been about a year since I've seen anything. Then I just have to make it to May. This summer should be one of the more interesting ones I've had in a while.
