Whooo, Scully's already canceling on Ethan for Mulder. ;) I think it's because of Syntax6's 'Universal Invariants' that I feel like I already know that guy. Was that fic a big inspiration for you?

Loved Mulder trying to get Scully to speculate and being charmed by his failure. Why doesn't Mulder mention the other two cases he found with similar features? Or was that something he kind of rigged up as a pretense for following the case to California?
