The other night Tom Hanks came to USC to make a presentation about documentaries and historical films. His program lasted about two hours and afterwards he did a question and answer session. I was in the fourth row, which was so cool. He is such a great speaker, which I guess is totally expected, and also very inspiring. It was neat to hear him ( Read more... )

I'm so jealous that you got to see Tom Hanks!

I normally go into Valentine's day with the same feeling (and single both times) - but the last couple Valentine's days turned out really well for me... and I came out not-so-lacking in romance :)

UGGGHHH Cole you and your star-studded life!!! I love Tom Hanks! He's so comfortable to watch, you know? He makes you feel like you've known him your entire life. On-screen, that is. I suppose only YOU would know what kind of aura he projects in person :) And I TOTALLY know what you mean about the Valentine's Day thing - although I've ever had anyone on Valentine's Day ANYWAY (not that im bitter or anything...) but one time in the 7th grade this guy I didn't really like asked me out and I said yes because I felt bad and it was right before Valentine's Day and he was all excited that we were going to be together on Valentine's day but then I broke up with him four days later because I just couldn't handle it. So... that was pretty irrelevant but sometimes irrelevance is a neccessary evil. Don't ask me why... I don't know.

It actually is kinda relevant. Valentine's Day is just so commercialized and in-your-face that it does create this kind of pressure, which I'm currently ignoring. And I thought Valentine's Day was only inconvenient when you had no one special in your life. We will survive though Corley. We will survive. Hey, Hey. Whoa, Whoa. We will survive...

i'd like to point out that nick and I had our 3rd date on valentines day last year...and that turned out great. So even if you're in the begining of a relationship, just remember, you never know, it could work out. And also I'm really excited to get your letter and I will call you on your B day (feb. 20th which i have had written down for over a month in my planner). I love you.

yeah i hate how v-day is such a big deal. it's just an excuse to get people to buy expensive jewelry, candy, hotel reservations, etc, etc. it doesnt mean anything else. shouldnt we be able to express our love for the people in our lives every day of the year?
