Lol Torchwood
Apparantly Starz has published a series sypnosis and character profiles for Torchwood USA. (See this post in doctorwho )
I wonder if RTD approved of this? LOLz
Seriously though, this new character Rex is being described as 'the golden boy' and 'destined for success'' and they save the best for last:
And they [Jack and Gwen] realize that this dangerous, dazzling, reckless man is the best friend they could ever have, in a world going to hell. They frighten us, men like Rex. We wish we were him; we never will be.
LOL. I don't even know what to say about this. If only I could be as DAZZLING and DANGEROUS as Rex is, I just wish I were him, you know!
And they DO know how to bring the SUSPENSE: But this time, the threat is much closer to home, as they realize that their greatest enemy is mankind itself...
I was actually really looking forward to Torchwood USA, because RTD is involved and I love his writing. But it seems as though its being.. changed too much? I know it's a NEW show in AMERICA and it should be NEW and DAZZLING obviously, but I hope they keep the stuff in that made Torchwood what it was.
I still have an open mind and hope it will be great, but with sypnosis like this, it's just very LOLworthy.
Oh and Jack is... IMMORTAL! WHAT WHAT Noways.He lived for thousands of years and has never been able to die.!!
I wonder if there are people who are going to watch this show, without having seen the original series and Doctor Who. If I read that a character was immortal on a show, just like that, I don't think I would find it very original. But when you know what happened to Jack and what Rose did, then it's actually a really good story. But they never really mention DW on Torchwood, so they probably won't do it in the US version either.
I'm still interested to see where they're going with this though.
In other news, I nearly finished my thesis and I sent it to my supervisor. We agreed I could graduate before september and he was on a holiday until last week. So I sent my piece to him on sunday and because he didn't react, I emailed him today and asked him if he had a chance to look at it yet and then suddenly I receive this OUT OF OFFICE REPLY.
Until further notice I am not in the office. I will not check my mail. For urgent matters please contact ........
WHAT. WE AGREED. And this out of office reply wasn't activated on sunday, so he must have seen my e-mail and then turned on his auto reply! I don't think I can graduate now before september and my boss is sort of counting on it that I am fully qualified by then :/ I sent an e-mail to the 'urgent matters' mail address, but apparantly they were out for the day as well, so I probably have to wait till tomorrow until I find out what to do now :/
