Personally, I love having my picture taken (gee, as if everybody didn't already know that). I prefer if the photographer is in street clothes, though, because they're behind the "fourth wall" for me. Unless I'm interacting with them, they don't exist, or at least that's the way I try to imagine it.
I used to take a lot more pictures than I do now, probably for the same reason you don't like taking them. I usually have a camera, though.
I'm good when having my picture taken, but I agree that when the public is about none of us should have cameras in our hands. It was great the other year at Scottish Fair when a really good photographer got interested in us and took a lot of photos. I'm afraid we all dropped our personae pretty blatantly for that.
