Does anyone have a quick, easy-to-use/make pattern for period shoes (meaning something that a klutz like myself can follow and crank out between now and Scottish Fair)? Online options?
Depends on how much work you want to do. I like this Tudor era one, which has quite a bit of leather sewing, but looks real good. Or you can trace your foot, add about three inches all around the outline, and cut out a wedge from the outside of the outline to the tip of your toe, with the point at your second toe, punch holes along the wedge shape, lace up, and adjust to fit.

You can pick it up at a fabric store.
