I think it is lovely and heartbreaking that you found this movie and this music at such a transitory point in your life. Or, on the other hand, perhaps it's supremely appropriate. Also, I think it's wonderful that you did not associate negative emotions with this film, which I think I would have done, that you were able to come out from the movie more alive and inspired than when you went it. That's a testament to both the movie and to your character.
it's such a rare experience, and yet, it's something i'm ever in search of -- that which will knock me upside the head with wonder!
something else that was wonderful about the movie is how (spoiler -- you've seen it though, right? I'm sure...) despite love winning out, "overcoming all obstacles," there is not a happy ending... puts things into perspective... teaches a person to cherish what they have while they can have it...
and people who look down on the film as a simple montage of cheesy love songs don't get it. i have known those people (CJ being one of them), and i can never explain the glorious method Luhrman has of TOYING with the ideas of cheesy love songs... how AWARE the whole movie is of its very self and yet...how exquisitely true:)
