This is the trailer for what is most likely going to be the breakout hit of Fall 2007 or the first show to fall into obscurity.

I raved about it a few entries ago, but I promise you--Pushing Daisies is amazing. AMAZING.

Oh, and if I were a pathetic squeeing fan girl, Ned is totally my new television boyfriend.

I agree that the premise is pretty basic, and needs to do more than guy-revives-dead-solves-mysteries. I did see some things in the pilot that I thought could be teased out over the course of a television season.

It makes me think of the first few episodes of Ugly Betty which kept rehashing the premise--"ugly" girl works at high fashion magazine. This allowed time for the audience to get used to the characters and for relationships and plot lines to blossom.

In order for this show to be successful, it'll need to be more than a quirky procedural.

And yes, I feel like I should be able to make a better argument, given that I stare at arguments for at least an hour a day. Apologies for incomprehensible nonsense.
