I can't even count the number of things you ignored in my rant. Well, yes I can.
1) I work with my dad and he needs me to work here, so if I quit I'm gonna be screwed at home. 2) I get paid a little more here than you probably did at Shop Rite.
Work sucks. I change jobs every other year, so it seems. But every year, I get a job that pays me more... and when you change it up, it doesn't get as dull and awful.
You need to find a camp (arts/ music/ theatre) or summer school program that does music-y things and be a counselor there. And, your dad won't be too mad b/c it's good for "experience" and your future and stuff.
But if you can't do that, suck it up, go the rag shop, buy some beads, and learn to make your friends some jewelry while you die of boredom at work. It's cheap and it's the thought that counts. Or learn to draw, paint, or do something distracting. Write songs, books, whatever. Read. Do stuff. Dieing is not an option.
P.S. - There's a Clarissa Explains It All DVD. Oh childhood that I don't remember lol.
i'll take the money and shitty job. being able to do what i want with friends and family and not being constrained by money makes up for hating your 40 hr job. i also haven't had much money at school the past two years and not being able to go out much or always have to be on a tight budget sucks dong. people definitely idealize poverty way to much at times.
that last question is a double-edged knife in my opinion...
cuz no money and no job means the time to spend with chilling with friends, but at the same time, there is only so much you can do without somehow eventually using money! And as for the money and job both, it seems that it's just something that everyone has to work through... and at least I don't think you have to deal with people soooo much... cuz then it's worse... cuz then you get all their stupidity and it makes you go crazy! :)
I think I know how you feel, cuz I wouldn't be able to put gas in my car and drive all over to see people and do my faire if I didn't have a job... which gives me money, but in my case, the job and driving etc take away the time that I could be spending with friends... I'm in that kind of a rut... good luck with yours! :)
probably yes. cause having no money and no job would make me want to die anyway. at least with the other option you have money to make you feel better about the job.
