They used to do these things more often. As June puts on her dress and carefully applies her make-up, she decides it's past time they got back to it.
They could easily pay for the tickets. Or, with the contacts they both have, they could probably just call in a few favors. Instead they put on their most expensive clothes, "borrow" an expensive necklace for June, hire a limo and make up a fantastic story that involves foreign diplomats and royalty to get the best seats in the opera house.
(The owner of the jewelry shop is June's friend. She pays him in advance and acts natural when they "steal" the necklace. Another time, Mozzie might have seen through the rouse, but he's wrecked with grief and June has been running cons before he was even born, so she gets away with it.
The con in the opera is real though, because there's only so much Mozzie would miss. Besides, she needs that bit of a thrill. She's strong, but there is only so much pain that can be patched up with lies

Ohhh! This is so lovely and beautiful and perfect! And so very June! (I almost added "and do a con along the way" to the prompt and you put it in anyway!!) :D Thanks for filling my prompt! <3
Awww, thank you :) Yes June is awesome (and there can never be enough of her with Mozzie or the orther characters). It was a great prompt; I'm glad you liked the fill :)
