Take that 1994!

Jan 03, 2009 15:06

I was slacking a bit with posts at the end of 2008 for all wonderful reasons! I finished edits on Book 1 and Book 2 is now at my publisher and I SWEAR it's the best thing I've ever written. After Klio's amazing hands give me editorial notes it I KNOW it will be the best thing I've ever written! It's a bit of a goofy parody of AND THEN THERE WERE ( Read more... )

This was a HELLA SWEET post, baby. Let's keep being so cute the Internet throws up and makes us it's guilty pleasure. But after years of being in the closet about it, the Internet admits it at a party, and is met by many, many friends that feel the same way. Maybe then we'll get on Oprah. We'll have Team Canoli action figures and lil kids can have them make out. We'll do commercials for Skype, and rake in the dough. $$$!!!!

High five to you, my love!

Awwww...You had me at "throws up". Boy do you know how to sweet talk a girl! If we don't get on Oprah surely there's something wrong with the world....or maybe she's just smart and would realize if she got us together the last thing we'd want to do was talk to her!

High fives in person soon. I can't wait!

There's like a 50/50 chance Ed's gonna be in Tokyo. We'll hopefully find out this week, but that would be so damn awesome if we could hang out there and frolic like obnoxious english speaking westerners together!

So damn jealous you're going for a WHOLE MONTH. have you been there before?

So awesome on all fronts! The only Japanese I know is "so-so" or "a little" since it's super fun to say outloud...though I most definitely won't be attempting to type it here!

The link didn't show up. What's the bar?! I'll most definitely pay it a visit. I just found out this morning that he got the job in tokyo. Woo!

Yay thanks! I can't wait to see who they pick for an artist! I've got my fingers super crossed about a few people but who knows. Supposedly Spring 2010 they'll be out...though that's mighty tight timing to get it all illustrated. I'll keep you all updated!

It's a bit of a goofy parody of AND THEN THERE WERE NONE called AND THEN THERE WERE GNOMES.

I would buy a book with this title even if you hadn't written it.

Also; I think your new boyfriend is a hottie. And I don't even like boys!

He is most definitely in the "grew up nerd, grew into hottie" variety of awesome human beings. Luckily for me there's still a lot of nerd there, which is the part of him that makes me MELT. Sure it helps that he could easily appear on a Tiger Beat cover, but it's the fact he'd much rather appear on a Star Wars magazine cover that I love.

Best thing for me is it's a group of hamsters that become convinced they are gnomes. So damn cute! Can't wait to see what their furry little butts are going to look like!

Well, who wouldn't? :) Anyway, you two are adorable together. Mazal tov!

GNOME IF YOU WANT TO, GNOME AROUND THE WORLD!

You know it's hard to definine what was so great about 1994. I guess it was the year I felt like my personality solidified...my taste in music, my clothes, puberty attacking me. I started to listen to music that wasn't top 40 that year, and started to not care about what other people thought. Also so many AMAZING bands got their big breaks taht year: Nirvana, Green Day, Stone Temple Pilots, Crash Test Dummies...um....let's just forget I named that last one! While I was into those artists, I also started to listen to all my dad's old records and got to know these amazing old bands. I also had my first kiss and first boyfriend that year...which was about four years of waiting for!

I also had the best friends i ever had that year. Groups of us used to crazy basement dance and make ridiculous sketch videos. Have murder mystery parties. After that year those same folks became more obsessed with popularity and drugs, but that year...94 everythign just seemed perfect and possible.

That does sound like a pretty amazing year. I don't remember much about my 1994. I graduated junior high school, the girl I crushed on in seventh grade moved away, and people started wearing "Green Day" shirts... and for almost a year I thought it was some sort of environmental movement!

HAHA! Okay that's one of the funniest things I've heard in a long time!

Also funny: My 13 year old cousin is SO into Green Day now. She found it so weird when I got excited and told her "That's when I got into Green Day!" I think she was convinced they were a new hott band!
