I got the job at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, and I started last Monday. This whole week was various orientations, starting with hospital orientation on Monday. It wasn't bad, kinda boring. I'm in the care coordination department, so the rest of the week (and the rest of next week) is orientation to THAT department. I've never had ( Read more... )

Dude, if you're feeling bad about Greensboro, come visit me in Fayetteville and Greensboro will seem like the classiest place on Earth, variety of spinach dip or no. This place is like the asshole of the armpit of the universe.

But you become accustomed to the fineries of city-life after awhile. Although I did find a Harris Teeter, and they had at least 3 types of fresh mozzarella. Whew.

At work the other day, someone was laughing at the name "Teeter," and I said, "Like Harris Teeter?" They didn't know what that was, so I had to explain that it was a grocery store, but I didn't know whether they were still around. Based on this post, I guess they are.

Woohoo, house is sold!! We JUST put ours on the market, like yesterday evening. (So, technically, today.)

We listed at $88k even. The houses that have sold/are on the market that are getting $91k+ all have garages, which we don't have. The houses at our square footage sans garage are listing at $89-90k. We priced just under to be "aggressive" but higher than we really need so that we can offer to pay $1000 in closing costs and give a $2000 "allowance" on the roof. After paying our realtor, taxes, etc, that brings us to almost exactly $80k of profit (it's like a few hundred over), and we need only $77,225 to pay off our mortgage, so even if we have to go down another $1000 or so, we're good.

Wish us luck!

Glad you like your new job!
