Need a hug

Monday for me kind of sucked. Out of all my classes, only one is a problem. That one has a block of kids that is unruly, refuses to listen, doesn't bring the books, passes nasty notes about the other classmates, and generally ruins it for the ones who want to learn, who they've cowed into submission. Don't let it get you down. You'll find you're getting through to at least a couple of them. Just keep reminding yourself that you can't change the world, just little parts of it. Some will appreciate you.

I can feel your pain in a way. I was a substitute teacher for a few months. It kinda chased away my backburner idea of being a teacher.

As an educator myself, I've discovered that when the kids think you're "mean," you're making them learn instead of play. When they think you're "rude," it means you're not taking garbage from them. They just don't like having to work. Don't let it get you down.
