Summary: Jared hates being sick.
Author Notes: Completely self-indulgent.

Jared was fucking miserable when he was sick. And as a result, he made everyone around him miserable too. Nowadays that person was Jensen, but before it was Sandy, and before that it was his momma. It wasn’t like Jared did it on purpose, but Jared also didn’t do anything by halves. When he was happy, the whole world knew because of his huge grin and laughter and when he was sad, people had actually cried along with him because of how upset he looked.

When he was sick, though, that was the worst. He was always too hot or too cold and he never wanted to eat anything that would help him feel better, only crappy food that was bad for you when you were actually healthy. He used up a million tissues and just threw them over the side of the bed. And he was achy all over his damn body and complained about it endlessly.

“Jensen, my side aches,” he would whine. Or, “Jensen, my stomach hurts.” Or even, “Jensen, my dick is sore,” and it’s not like Jensen didn’t do all that he could to make Jared feel better. Logically, Jared knew that Jensen tried to help and make Jared feel as comfortable as possible despite all the aches and pains. But Jared wasn’t in the right state of mind when he was sick and Jensen usually said it was because his brain was frying up because of his fever and was probably aching too. This would result in a tickle fight which had both of them gasping for air, but always made Jared feel slightly better.

Then Jensen would lie down next to him, even though he might get sick too, and fold Jared into his arms, just holding him. And that always made the aches and pains go away, only Jensen filling all his senses. So maybe being sick wasn’t always so bad.
