Jensen stands in the kitchen, hip perched against the counter and hand cradling a cup of coffee. Jared had woken up this morning to a cold and empty bed. Jensen was up much earlier in order to get ready for work.
Jared leans against the wall at the entrance of the kitchen watching his boyfriend. At least, he hopes he can call Jensen his boyfriend now. After spilling his guts Friday and then finding out Jensen felt the same on Saturday, the two spent most of Saturday and Sunday tucked in Jared’s room, just talking and cuddling and reveling in the truth now that they could. They didn’t go much farther than heated make out sessions, and Jared honestly felt like a teenager all over again, but it felt amazing.
Now that the truth was out, Jared was willing to go as slow as possible, because he had Jensen now. He looks over at Jensen in his nice slacks and button down shirt that fits him just perfectly. Jared admits to himself that he’s happy Jensen’s with kids whose hormones aren’t all over the place yet and they aren’t lusting after Jensen.
Jensen happens to come out of whatever reverie he’s in and looks at Jared. The smile on his face is so bright, Jared almost feels the need for sunglasses. Jared’s lips tilt up automatically in a smile of his own, unable to help himself. Jared walks over slowly towards Jensen who is standing there looking at him and looking like the best thing Jared’s ever seen in his life. He probably is.
He’s in front of Jensen in seconds, his long strides eating up the distance between them. They are about a step apart; Jared can feel the hot breath from Jensen’s lips. He dips his head, hesitating just a bit in case Jensen changed his mind. Jensen tilts his head back and surges the rest of the space to catch Jared’s lips with his own in a good morning kiss.
It’s more than just a kiss hello, it’s a kiss saying missed you, want you, need you. Jared can feel Jensen put down his cup of coffee so one hand can cup Jared’s jaw and the other can twine in Jared’s messy bed head. His face feels warm from the hand that was holding the coffee. Jared’s hands wrap around Jensen’s waist, careful not to mess up the shirt even if that’s all he wants to do.
Jensen lets out a little whimper and Jared has to pull away from Jensen’s addicting lips before he does something irrational.
“Mmm, good morning to you too Jay,” Jensen says in a husky voice and Jared just has to lean in again and kiss him. It’s not like Jensen’s resisting anyway.
This kiss is much shorter and Jared pulls back to see a blissful expression on Jensen’s face, eyes gone a bit hazy.
Jared resists leaning in once more because he has to get ready for work too.
Jensen reaches out to place a warm palm on the back of Jared’s neck, pulling him in for a short chaste peck.
“Work. But I’ll see you tonight?” Jensen asks.
“Yeah, I’ll see if I can get the boss to let me leave a little early.”
“Good,” Jensen says, green eyes lighting up gorgeously, “I’ve got plans for you.” Jared smiles brightly.
“Can’t wait.”
He can’t wait to come home tonight to Jensen, not just today, but for a really long time. And he also can’t wait to greet Jensen good morning like this for forever, if possible.
