Jensen doesn't know how he gets through the rest of the period. He tries going through it normally, like he did for the other classes, but his eyes keep straying to Jared who never quite meets his gaze, a pretty flush ever present on his face.

That's another thing. Jensen knows Jared is looking at him, but every time he looks back, he never catches the guy's eyes completely. He seems to miss him by a nanosecond. Jensen took roll at the beginning of class, and when he got to Jared's name, he knew his eyes bugged out a little. Jared Padalecki. As in Jeff Padalecki's brother. Jeff, the friend whose house he met Jared at. Jensen could barely get Jared's name out and when Jared said here in a meek little voice? Jensen had to resist from looking up and locking eyes with the guy he blew. The underage guy he blew. The underage guy he blew who is the younger brother of one of his friends.

Jensen had to repeatedly resist banging his head on something the entire class, internally berating himself for being a complete idiot.

The bell rings for everyone to go home and Jensen bites his lip, wondering if he should get it over with now and hold Jared back or if he should just turn tail and run far away and hide.

Jensen’s trying to decide what to do when Jared pops up in his field of vision fingering the hickey in a seemingly absent minded manner. The decision is made for him it seems. Somehow Jared looks up at that exact moment and Jensen mouths stay and Jared nods, biting his lip and looking so damn adorable and kissable and this is exactly what got Jensen into this mess in the first place.

“So, hi.” Jensen says after a couple of minutes of awkward silence and trying to look everywhere but at Jared while trying to look at Jared all at once. Jensen assumes he probably looks like a spaz by this point.

“Hey.”

Jensen’s not exactly sure where to go from here. He knows that no matter what he says, this conversation isn’t going to be anything but painfully awkward.

“I had no idea you were Jeff’s brother, underage, and in high school, so I probably shouldn’t have taken advantage of you last weekend and I’m truly sorry,” Jensen says, the words spilling from his lips faster than he can think.

Jared just looks at him, mouth open a little. He looks down then, saying something that Jensen has to strain to hear.

“Do you regret it?”

And that’s the kicker right there. Because Jensen can’t regret it. That was one of the most amazing nights he’s had in a long time and he was stuck in a Jared-filled haze all weekend and he really can’t bring himself to regret one of the best things that’s happened in a while.

“No,” he whispers. Jared looks up quickly at that and smiles wide, that dimple all but winking at him and Jensen’s glad he answered completely honestly.

“But Jared, we can’t. You’re still underage. And you’re still one of my friends’ younger brother. As much as I want to, and believe me do I want to, I can’t do anything else with you.”

Jared stands there, worrying his bottom lip and Jensen has to hold himself back from hauling Jared close and biting that lip himself. His licks his own lips, mouth dry, and sees Jared track the movement, which just makes him do it again.

“I’ll be 18 in a couple of months, so it’s not like I’m that underage. Look, I can’t do anything about the Jeff thing, but I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t mind. And even if he did? I don’t really care. I really want to see you again and do things with you that he may not approve of. I’m not completely innocent okay and it’s not like Jeff has to know everything.”

The guy does make some sense. And Jensen completely ignores where Jared says he’s not completely innocent because the caveman in him wants to be Jared’s first everything. Jensen knows, logically, that he should talk to Jeff and he really shouldn’t start anything with Jared, let alone in the freakin’ high school, but he honestly can’t bring himself to care with Jared standing there looking devastatingly perfect. His heart and mind are warring and Jensen’s not quite sure who to follow. He makes a quick choice and leans over, pecking Jared quickly on the lips.

“Give me some time, okay?” Jensen asks of Jared. “I’ll talk to you soon,” he promises and then turns away. He has some decisions to make and he really has to sit down and think about the consequences of his actions.

Jensen goes out of the classroom and into the hallway, not letting himself look back because it would be a really bad idea right now. He signs out in the office, giving the secretary and grin and letting her know to call him if they need him again. The next couple of days he tries to go to class and to put Jared out of his mind. Not that it works. Jared’s constantly on his mind, one way or another and he really needs to figure out what to do regarding that whole situation.

He calls up Jeff, talking to him first because he knows that although Jeff might get upset, Jensen doesn’t want to go behind his friend’s back and make an even bigger mess of the crisis right now. Jeff and he talk for a long time and while Jeff doesn’t exactly give him the blessing to move ahead, he doesn’t completely say no either. He probably knows that Jared probably wouldn’t listen anyway. His one rule is to not do anything until after Jared’s birthday in July.

Jensen’s not sure what it is about Jared, but he is more than happy to wait. He gets Jared’s number off of Jeff so they can at least keep in touch in the meantime. Jensen’s positive that if Jared were to come in front of him, he’d ravish the guy and not heeding the restriction that Jeff has. Jensen worries before calling Jared, though. Because although Jensen is willing to wait, what if Jared isn’t? What if he finds someone else in the next couple of months? Someone who he doesn’t have to wait to be with and is closer to his own age and who it would just be easier with?

All these doubts plague Jensen for days and he can’t get up the courage to call the guy and put these misgivings to rest.

Apparently Jared is psychic, though, and his phone rings a week after he’s talked to Jeff and two weeks after he met Jared for the first time.

“Hello?”

“Hey, so you suck at making the first move you know that?” Jared asks and Jensen’s pretty sure it’s a rhetorical question, but he answers anyway.

“It’s been said, yeah,” Jensen agrees with a small smile.

“Jeff told me you talked to him?”

“Mhmm.”

“He also told me you said you’d be willing to wait, is that right?” Jared asks. And this is it, this is where he’s putting his heart on the line for the guy he knew for a few hours but can’t get out of his damn mind.

“I am if you are,” Jensen says, insecurity creeping up again even if Jared was the first to call.

“And you’re completely sure?” Maybe Jared isn’t the only insecure one then.

“Completely.” Because he is. There’s just something about Jared that seems to call out to Jensen like nobody else has. They seem to fit.

“Good. Me too, by the way,” Jared says, relief and happiness evident in his voice. Jensen laughs and they talk for what seems like hours, about everything and anything.

The months seem to fly by, lost in a flurry of classes, exams, Jared’s graduation, and phone calls and text messages. Most of them are innocent, but some? Well, let’s just say Jeff doesn’t need to know about those. Soon school is over and summer is upon them. Jensen stays in town, taking a couple of summer classes and working at the campus bookstore, trying to make some extra cash and keeping busy since so many of his friends aren’t in town. Jared is, though. And although there are quite a few chances for them to meet, they both know they wouldn’t be able to resist from doing something they shouldn’t.

Jensen and Jared talk pretty much every day, random things that happen in their life. Jensen mostly complains about school and his job while Jared makes him jealous by talking about being lazy and sleeping till late afternoon and doing absolutely nothing.

Jensen will be the first to admit it’s hard. Jared’s a couple of miles away from him constantly and although it would be easy to go see him, to just be with him, he doesn’t want to lose Jeff’s friendship. Jensen’s pretty sure Jeff would understand at this point though. Jensen’s slowly going crazy with just a voice on the phone and a couple of texts. He needs Jared by this point. His day seems incomplete without hearing his slow Texan drawl, without his emoticons in each text, without him.

Matt’s stayed over the summer as well and takes every single opportunity to make fun of him as possible. He asks about loverboy and Jensen’s boyfriend and how he’s so totally in love with the guy. Jensen snarks back about how Matt is just as bad about Alex, Matt’s boyfriend, but Matt doesn’t deny those claims, just saying at least Alex is legal and well, there’s nothing Jensen can say to that. Jensen doesn’t really mean it, though, because Matt and Alex are pretty much perfect for each other and Jensen couldn’t be happier for his best friend.

But the love comment. That hits him kind of hard. He figures Jared and he are boyfriends by now, even if they only talk by phone, but it’s confirmed (and the stress is relieved) when Jared tells him something about his friends and how he told them about Jensen, his boyfriend. Jensen’s glad they didn’t have to talk about it, not wanting another awkward conversation. The love thing, though. He really thinks about it and it’s completely true. He’s madly, deeply, in love with the guy. They had one night and a few months of conversation and he’s totally gone for Jared.

Jensen thinks this should be a lot scarier than it actually is, given how he reacts to the rest of his relationships, but he truthfully can’t bring himself to overthink it. It’s just the truth, plain and simple.

It’s really hard to resist not just driving over to see Jared after he comes to this conclusion though, just wanting to burst it out, but two things stop him. One, he’s not sure what Jeff would do (though he most likely doesn’t care anymore about that at this point) and two, he’s not sure if Jared feels the same way. Jensen really doesn’t want to be rejected and doesn’t think he could handle it if Jared doesn’t feel the same way.

Jensen confesses his feelings to Matt, who listens like the awesome friend he is, and mocks, like the not so awesome friend. But he’s there and placates Jensen and tells him he’s sure Jared feels the same way. Jensen’s not so sure, because Jared’s not the type of guy to hold things in. He’s gotten to know Jared over the past few months and Jared can’t really keep things inside, he just blurts them out. Which is one of the things that Jensen loves about the guy.

Matt apparently takes matters into his own hand. A knock sounds on Jensen’s door as he’s attempting to study, and assuming it’s Matt, Jensen yells “come in!”

“You’ve got quite the bachelor pad, man,” a voice that is most definitely not Matt says behind him. Jensen whirls around in his desk chair to see Jared looking around Jensen’s room with a grin. Jensen doesn’t even think before he’s pushing Jared against the closed door and ravaging his mouth. Jared moans into his mouth and arches into Jensen’s touch.

“Hopefully not a bachelor,” Jensen says between kisses against Jared’s mouth. Jared laughs at that and responds, “Nope, most definitely not.” A little swoop of warmth rushes through Jensen’s belly at those words.

He finally pulls back and really looks at the guy, not having seen him in months. There are still a few weeks before Jared’s eighteenth birthday, so Jared really shouldn’t be here, but he is and Jensen’s going to take advantage of that, not even caring anymore. He’s surprised he lasted this long to be completely honest.

“What the hell are you doing here? Not that I’m complaining of course,” Jensen asks, hands never leaving Jared’s body, thumb brushing against that delectable hipbone that Jensen remembers biting and sucking at.

“Matt called me and said I should come. And honestly? I wasn’t going to last much longer anyway. It was the perfect excuse.”

Jensen is going to kill him. Or maybe kiss him, because Jared’s standing in front of him looking absolutely amazing. Jensen thinks he might have gotten even hotter in the past few months.

“What about Jeff?” Jensen asks, needing to know.

“Jeff just turned a blind eye, knowing where I was going, but not stopping me. He didn’t say anything either, so I assume it’s fine. Can we stop talking now?”

“Hell yes,” Jensen growls before hauling Jared closer and kissing him again. If Jeff’s okay with it, nothing’s stopping him now. It’s only a couple of weeks until Jared’s completely legal and it’s not like any of their friends are going to say anything.

Jensen puts all thoughts but Jared out of his mind and drops to his knees right there by the door. Jared moans in anticipation and Jensen quickly unbuckles the belt and unbuttons the jeans, pulling them down. He’s not wearing any underwear and Jensen moans, looking up with a raised eyebrow to see Jared’s flushed face.

“I was kind of hopeful,” Jared says with a small smile, just a hint of dimple, and Jensen’s completely okay with that. He leans in and licks the head of Jared’s dick, inhaling the musky scent and he knows he’s not going to last long with Jared finally here. Phone sex only goes so far.

They’re laying in bed mere minutes later, both of them sweaty, panting, and sticky and although it only took a short while, it was absolutely worth it.

“You know I’m probably never letting you out of my bed now right?” Jensen asks Jared who is currently lying on Jensen’s chest and absently drawing patterns there.

“Nowhere else I’d rather be,” Jared answers against damp skin.

Jensen and Jared can talk later, about the love thing and everything else. For now, Jensen’s content to just finally have Jared in his arms, not wanting to be anywhere else in the world.
