I'm surprised that you have similar views to mine, but I'm glad that you do.

The only thing where we really differ at all is on the gay marriage thing, and I'm not even for it, I'm just almost completely indifferent. I think we should provide a way for "partnership rights" and can the whole idea of marriage legally, as a good solution. But who knows.

I don't mind partnership rights. I agree if they are life partners that they should have the same benefits that a "married couple". However, I also believe in the sanctity of marriage and truly believe that it is a gift given by God to a man and woman. If I didn't believe in God, I probably wouldn't believe in marriage period. I would love for gay men who are committed to their partners to be able to have the same tax breaks and to be allowed to be on the same health insurance policy and so on. But calling it marriage just strikes me as morally wrong due to my beliefs.
