so.. the day after my brother was killed we got a call from a reporter asking if he could do a story on chris, we told him no.. we dont' want anything in the paper.. not even an obituary, we know they have to report on the accident but we asked them to leave his name out

Maybe call the editor as Andy suggested and issue a statement saying that your family would prefer to have as little media coverage as possible during this time of crisis and that you would like time to grieve privately. Or even call another paper with this request.
When a high school friend of mine was killed at age 16 in an industrial accident at work the media showed footage over and over of his grief stricken father pulling his body from the scene. We were in grade 10, we all saw it on the news. I still cry when I think of this.
