I was going to say the correct answer could also be 1. After all, between 1 and 100, there's only one number 6. "Counting from 1 to 100, how many times will you encounter the digit 6?" would be a better-phrased question.

I'm with you on that one. "1!" was my initial gut response for the same reason.

Alas, whichever way you read the question, they still don't have a valid answer. ;)

It's not really a question, it's a riddle, which I'm not sure have any place in IQ tests.
