Yes, when I bought my laptop just last spring, the standard-fancy ones were Vista-only, but I got one of the about-to-be-non-current configs that was XP-natural. It was clearly a very odd transition period for them.

What gets me is the idea that a computer with XP is worth $150 more than one with Vista, as this pricing seems to imply.

Well, there are very few people who are so enthusiastic about Vista that they'd pay more for it, but there are some crazy nutjobs out there who would pay more to avoid Vista... must be crazy. But hey, if we're there, take advantage of it. :)
