Are there other wireless networks in the area? Maybe they use the same channel or something. Happens to me sometimes.

Does it usually happen when you've been out with the laptop and then return home? Or are we talking about a situation where it works fine, you put it to sleep for the night, and the next morning, it's lost the connection?

It definitely happened once when returning home, but it happened today when I moved the laptop from the kitchen to the living room.

Not sure why they do this. Mine's done it twice in the last year or so, and only after we moved to our current location. My wife's has done it a couple of times under similar circumstances, but not at the same time, which raises an eyebrow. This is going to take a little google-fu.

It always has happened at home, but that doesn't mean that much, as I use it at home like 98% of the time and it happens very infrequently. I will admit my wireless router is a fairly old Linksys.

The times that it has happened with my MacBook, I just reset my Linksys and the MacBook picks the base right back up again.
