First the Vista box's monitor is refusing to work again. Without its keyboard and mouse and Synergy for comfortable typing at my desk, I dug out a out a USB keyboard to plug directly into the MacBook Pro -- and of course, I had to manually program the meta keys, and the function keys didn't work at all. Which MacBook Pro do you have? The newest version?

Vista has been glitchy for me...even to this day I still run into video card errors with the drivers.

The newest 15" MacBook Pro, yes.

I'm fairly sure it's a monitor problem, not a Vista problem -- the dang power button doesn't seem to work properly, which I can't see clear to blaming on Vista.

Poor rice cooker. It's funny how the demise of the basic cooking implement hits harder than the computer... But RICE! and DINNER! I hope you remember how to use a saucepan... I'd be hard-pressed.

I did use the saucepan to cook the rice after dinner. The problem was that I finished cooking the stir fry and went to serve Jen her rice for dinner and it was still raw and hard. Very bad timing of failure.
