First the Vista box's monitor is refusing to work again. Without its keyboard and mouse and Synergy for comfortable typing at my desk, I dug out a out a USB keyboard to plug directly into the MacBook Pro -- and of course, I had to manually program the meta keys, and the function keys didn't work at all. That's horrible :(

Which MacBook Pro do you have? The newest version?

Vista has been glitchy for me...even to this day I still run into video card errors with the drivers.

The newest 15" MacBook Pro, yes.

I'm fairly sure it's a monitor problem, not a Vista problem -- the dang power button doesn't seem to work properly, which I can't see clear to blaming on Vista.

Poor rice cooker. It's funny how the demise of the basic cooking implement hits harder than the computer... But RICE! and DINNER! I hope you remember how to use a saucepan... I'd be hard-pressed.

I did use the saucepan to cook the rice after dinner. The problem was that I finished cooking the stir fry and went to serve Jen her rice for dinner and it was still raw and hard. Very bad timing of failure.
