John knew the drill. And he was there right on time, as always. He stood tall, though maybe a little weary. It was more from boredom than any true wear though, and he was more than ready for her visit.

"Peps," he greets, an air of professionalism around him even as he opens his arms for her. "It's so good to see you."

The trip is the same as always, and she's getting more and more used to gate travel.

Of course, it helps that on the other end is her brother, whom she hasn't seen in two months. How the hell she's lasted this long, is beyond her.

"You're telling me," she responds cheerily, stepping into his embrace. Her arms go around his waist tightly, and she nuzzles her face into his chest. "I've missed you."

"Haven't missed you a bit," he lies easily, winding his arms around her. When he pulls back, he tilts their foreheads together, so used to this Athosian greeting.

She smiles. The first time she'd been slightly confused, but again, she knows what's going on by now.

"Whatever," she laughs. "Is this where I tell you to take me to your leader?" As per their agreement, she really does have some new specs from Tony to drop off. Makes this a business trip instead of for pleasure, even though she knows meeting with Woolsey will take a few hours at most, and she is there all week.

"Something like that," he agrees, slinging an easy arm around her waist.

Pepper tries to hide the snort.

"Did you have a bad experience with marshmallows too?"

"It's.. a painful saga to recall. I'm not sure if I love you enough to relive the trauma."

[only_pepper]

"Oh," she laughs, playfully pushing at him. "Now you HAVE to tell me. How are mashmallows painful?"

"I.. inhaled marshmallow fluff when I was five." :D?

[only_pepper]

She sighs. "It wasn't your fault and not your fuck up...if their relationship couldn't last, it was their own deal."

"God, I can't wait until the DADT is repealed. Seriously. It'll alleviate so much stress."

"Can we ..not talk about this? I feel like it's been the only I've thought about in a really long time." He felt twelve, really truly twelve, and he hated that feeling.

[only_pepper]

"Done and done." She bends over and gives him a kiss on the forehead. She then taps him on the shoulder, motioning for him to get off her lap.

"Now let's play chess. I am so kicking your ass, by the way."
