The imagery in this is beautiful.

The story is wonderfully chilling - all that was written about Laura's Games and the aftermath left me with goosebumps. One big happy Adama family! Billy! Zak! Pretty Zak.

And now, oh wow, Kara and Lee. I cannot wait to see where this goes. I can't even put into words how excited I am for the next chapter.

Brilliant stuff.

Despite having no clue about the Hunger Games, and so how this is going to go, I absolutely love this!

Wonderful start to this series! The characterizations are spot-on. Saul as Haymitch is BEYOND perfect!
I love that this gives Bill & Laura at least a little bit of happiness (before their children begin to be sent to their deaths!).
And I love Laura's honestness about her *mathematical absurdity* in winning the games. She has a steely edge but isn't really a physical fighter and it makes sense that she feels she won by a combination of luck and animal instinct.

Can't wait for more! Even though it looks like Laura's going to be facing some undeserved guilt...

Just so you know, I started reading the series on Thursday (for research/reference/artsy/flailing purposes) I'm almost done with Mockingjay. After rereading the bits of the story that I do have, I'm pretty much all ASKLAJJDFKJSDHFA right now. When I'm not huddled in a fetal position, fearful of what's coming.

Much like Cavil and a certain terrorist-cum-politician, olga_theodora and I prefer our readers be governed by fear.
