Lately I've been trying to write down my dreams to see how coherent they are when I am not conciously directing them.
The first dream I wrote down began with a group of kids, two boys and one girl, wrapped up and playing in the snow. They enjoy themselves having a snowball fight, building a snowman, and sledding down nearby hills. One of the boys is blonde wearing a blue coat, the other boy is a brunette wearing red, and the last girl has light brown hair and is wearing green. Unfortunately, the laughter of the children echoes up and starts an avalance. The blonde boy is seperated from his friends and is swept away by the snow towards a stream. When the body isn't found, everyone thinks he has died, even his two best friends who have been looking for his body non-stop.
The girl finds him years later encased in a solid block of ice, somehow kept alive at the very bottom of the river. She thaws him out and waits as he awakenes from the strange meditative state he has been in for over a decade. It is strongly implied that Magic was keeping him alive as he was able to feel the changing seasons and is in tune with the animals and nature in the region. The girl, now a woman, brings the time-frozen boy to their other friend, the man that is now her husband.
There are so many tears as the friends reunite. The woman wants to reintroduce him to society but the man has a different opinion as he sees how distracted the boy is by the plants around them instead of the advanced technology he has encountered. The couple bicker in the background while the boy realizes how much of his life has been taken away from him. He must now decide if staying awake would make him happy or if he would prefer to return to his meditative state observing the natural world.
The couple decide to let the boy make his decision alone. The lure of Magic is implied to be too strong and they send him tearfully back to the river. The boy does agree to be thawed out periodically to check in with his friends, though.
This was a very strange dream. It reminded me of a short story without any real care going to practical questions like how is he alive? Or what about his parents? Who knows...
