What is love?

kinda a hard question.

i think there's a passage that sums it up I just can't remember it at this moment. It's read at a lot of weddings.
Love is kind. etc etc
I love that passage.
I'll have to see if I can find it.

In searching I found this one I like too by Kahlil Gibran:
"Love gives naught but itself and takes naught but from itself.
Love possesses not nor would it be possessed;
For love is sufficient unto love."

Not sure why but whenever asked questions like these, I think quotes. LOL

Found it and shame on me I should have known it was a Bible passage. This prob doesn't answer your question but I thought of this the second I saw your post.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

I told her that it was up to her. She had said she had one in mind, but she also said that if she couldn't find anything she was gonna need me to pick one. LOL
also, that's a Bible passage and we're not having a religious ceremony persay...

i don't think i can give an elaborate answer. but i could make some points.

love is meaning what you say. but love is also doing what you mean so you don't have to say it.

love is not lying.

love should make you a priority, not because love pulls rank, but because there's no such thing as only loving "some of the time".

love shouldn't make you cry unless you lose it.

love is not something you can control, but it shouldn't control you.
