THE FEDERAL MARRIAGE AMENDMENT WAS DEFEATED IN SENATE!!!!!!!!!!!

50-48!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

take THAT, Bush.

Obviously it isn't over; but as long as people work as hard as they did against the FMA, it won't be a lost cause! :O)

There wasn't a hope of it passing in the first place. Stupid election year politicking is all.

But I second the 'Fuck off' to Bush.

Look at my icon, what do you think? :-p

I've spent months raving about how awful the FMA is for a vast number of reasons. I'm just glad someone finally listened to me. Yeah, that's right, I'm talking to YOU, Congress! :)

Apparently, they knew it wouldn't pass. The whole idea was to force Democrats to show where they stood, so that they would lose votes in the next election. Damn sneaky Republicans. A friend's mom says that the Democrats need to stop playing fair and play like Republicans if we want to win.

I'm worried about other issues than those.

Big business doesn't worry me either, and foreign policy is a tricky situation no matter who you are.

I'm more talking about enviromentalism and education, which, while it may not be the biggest priority, the Dems are a better chance. Plus, they're less likely to promote stupid things like a gay marriage amendment. I know both parties are close. But, we need someone other than Bush because of our world image at least. We need to at least have an eloquent speaker.

I wouldn't call them "the same guy"; I'm pretty sure Kerry won't lead us into war in "the name of God" >:O(

whatever, you guys. let's just make this simple, even though it is never going to be. Republicans=bad, Democrats=good, Independants=best. I love the fact that we have a third party :)
