Anti-OTP: Cyrano de Bergerac/ Arabella Strange

Mrs Strange, perhaps unusually, has come to the library. While it cannot be said that the library has any sort of organization, necessary, she has found a section that seems largely to be comprised of novels and poetry she recognizes from her home time and country, and is browsing it with a casual interest.

Cyrano will be at the same desk he's been using all this time, and still rewriting the final scene of his play, but as he seeks inspiration, his mind will wander a little, and he will take notice of the browsing lady.

She smiles when she sees he has noticed her, but says nothing. In her experience, men at work who seem to be attentive are just as often miles away.

He will smile back, then, and try to be focused on his work again. Women are usually not attracted to him, anyway.

The book she pulls next is wedged too tightly beside its neighbor, and both fall to the floor. She looks at once to Cyrano. "Pardon me."
