1. Luna/Onew; Quirks
Luna knows all of his quirks.
She knows that he’s left-handed, but his right hand is stronger. She knows that he prefers chicken wings over any other part of the chicken because, It’s tastier! She knows that he’s not a very good artist, not counting his amazing stick figures, of course. She knows that he can’t cook to save his life, so she just takes over and whips something up when he comes over--they always end up ordering chicken though. She knows that when he’s in love, it’s clearly visible in his eyes.
Onew knows all of her quirks.
He knows that she’s actually a lot better at soccer than most boys--better than him by a long-shot, for sure. He knows that she never cries when he’s looking, because it’s her way of saying, I’m tough. He knows that she secretly practices little monologues by herself; she dreams of acting, not singing. He knows that she doesn’t like vanilla or chocolate better than the other, but instead, vanilla-chocolate is the best. He knows that she’s a bit of a romantic at heart, and wants to be loved.
Luna gives Onew a high-five and cheers him on that night, reminding him of his good traits. He gives her a sort of lopsided grin back and leaves her side.
And Luna’s heart slowly begins to chip away, piece by piece.
2. Donghae/Tiffany; Invisible
“Hey, Tiffany!”
“Oh, hi, Donghae!”
What happened to Miyoung?
“Do you know Jessica’s favorite color?”
“Huh? Oh, I think she likes white or black or something like that.”
Mine is pink, but I know you don’t care.
“Tiffany, Tiffany!”
“Hey, again!”
I missed you, do you know that?
“What does Jessica think about roses?”
“She prefers lilies, actually.”
But I love roses.
“Hey, Tiffany? Sorry to bother you again.”
“It’s no bother!”
It really isn’t, since I get to see you.
“When does Jessica get out of vocal lessons?”
“At 4:00.”
I’m always free, though.
“Tiffany, hey!”
“Oh, hi!”
It’s you again.
“Where does Jessica want a first date to be, do you think?”
“She’d probably like a romantic dinner.”
But so would I, Donghae.
You sighed the next time we met.
“What’s wrong?” I had asked.
“Why is Jessica so...so beautiful?”
“I-I don’t know.”
“Ah, well, thanks for helping me all this time; it means a lot, Tiffany.”
You used to call me Miyoung.
“It’s no problem at all!”
But it is.
3. Yuri/Yesung; Almost
They differed too much, Yesung decided.
She was the queen of sexy and he was an awkward mess. She liked dancing and he was a singer. She was a moodmaker and created laughter amongst her members. He was quiet and when he tried to be funny, failed enormously. She was flirty and bubbly with the boys. He never approached girls in such a bold manner.
One day, Yesung stopped sticking his hand out and pulling it right back, which always fooled Yuri. It was their inside thing, he told himself with a smile.
One day, the two never spoke to each other again and only exchanged polite smiles.
One day, Yesung was reminded of how he and Yuri were an almost kind of thing.
Almost just wasn’t good enough.
4. Key/Amber; Changed
Amber had changed.
Key could tell--ever since she had been spending more and more time with that Canadian boy, she was changing.
He missed seeing movies with her and sharing popcorn. He missed pretending to hit her whenever she called him girly, and he’d shoot right back that she was an absolutely dude. He missed the late-night phone calls they had about the most random things. The things they did often didn’t make sense, but because it was the two of them, it didn’t matter.
He missed her, he realized.
Key spotted Amber not too far away and began smiling. Quickly standing up, he was about to make his way over to her.
But he was there.
And so Key stopped, sat back down, and hoped that maybe she hadn’t changed enough to forget that he let her eat most of the popcorn, he would never truly harm her, he let her disturb his beauty sleep because she was just her, and that he cared, from afar.
Amber had gone over the boundaries. No longer was she Eunyoung (a nickname Key penned himself), Kim Kibum’s best friend and a-little-something-else.
She was Amber.
Some notes: In Lunew's story, Luna helped Onew get the girl he liked, but she loved him. With Haefany, Tiffany loves Donghae, but he loves Jessica, which I think is obvious. The Canadian boy in Keyber's drabble is Henry Lau. I think that should clear up anything you're confused about? I've been in such an angsty mood lately, it's weird. And confession, this is only the second time I've written angst. :)
