Dying hurt about as much as Hal imagined. It was all academic- as the blood loss became too great, the victim would start feeling less and less, the numbness pervasively coating all sensation, pain or otherwise. He never felt the felling blow of Larxene's knife, just the feeling of falling without moving

Are you alright?

Hal nodded slowly. "Against all probability and thoughts of causality, yes." Sighing, he busied himself tugging the hood of his white long jacket up and over his head, blocking some of the rain. "New day on the planes, I assume... How many days has it been since the Reviva festival?" Good a way as any to suss out how long he'd been dead.

"Uh... 5 not including today... why?" And then it hits him like a brick. "You're not the guy that Larxene..." And a pause before he just blurts out,"No wonder they won't stay dead!"

"Yes, I'm him. Was him. I'm noticeably not in pieces now. I look like a jigsaw puzzle though," he muttered, tracing some of the lines on his arm. "That's... going to give me new and exciting nightmares." He sighed, finally paying the boy some proper attention. "I don't think we've been introduced, though you apparently know me."

He only leans over, shielding him from the rain under an umbrella with keys printed on it, not hardly sparing a smile.]
Welcome ... Welcome home.

"Mm, I guess so." He hung his elbows on his knees, gaze tilted easily up. "Hello, Roxas. Nice umbrella. Somehow apropos. Did I miss anything important?" Like Larxene's tragic and hopefully permanent death, he didn't say by some miracle.

Right. Roxas. Boy who looked even more stoic and blank than usual. Hal used one finger to lift the brim of the umbrella, just enough so if wasn't blocking his view of Roxas. "Are you all right?" he asked in a soft, worried tone.

Or rather ... got it memorized?

No, I don't get it. No, I am not a Nobody. Yes, I'd like you to please leave me alone while I figure this out.

Oh, c'mon. You're a smart man. "Axhl"? "Axel"? Aha.

"How...what...what's going on?!"
She's starting to freak out now.
"It's not that I don't want you to be dead, but that's impossible! The only people I saw come back from the dead were zombies!!"
Rebecca ponders whether or not to pull her gun out on Otacon, and continues to flip out.

Hal smiled in what he hoped was a reassuring manner and raised his eyebrows at Rebecca. "And besides, I don't look like a zombie, do I?" He really didn't want to have to tranq her...

Rebecca blushes now, and she feels rather awkward. "Sorry if I frightened you. Just...try not to die again please."

Hal laughed. "It's not on my to-do list, so hopefully I won't."

What happened? I was blind on the day you were killed.

Larxene attacked and murdered me. I'm... back now. Death doesn't last very long on this world either, it seems.

Our means of learning it was unfortunate -- for you, more than anyone -- but it is a good thing to know.

It does change things, yes...
