i was just wondering, how does one memorize over one hundred paintings, pieces of architecture, names of artists associated with each work, plus the highlights and key aspects of artistic time eras? i've been studying but i feel as if nothing is entering my mind and staying there. how do you memorize things? i don't have time for flashcards...it

as for me, i hardly ever study because the humanities/linguistics are pretty intuitive for me to learn, and it's easy for me to retain information. i also have found i have a photographic memory, which is nice for when i have to remember the location of countries in eastern europe or the shapes of tissues for human anatomy and physiology. however, i'm not sure i make the most of this skill; i have yet to learn how to properly use/prepare a photographic mind in terms of studying for science tests... which i often do poorly on :(

For science, use mnemonic devices! sounds stupid, but it works (for me at least). Although I haven't taken a science course since high school, so I don't know how valid my advice is, in terms for myself, anymore.

and i envy your one-try memory. Unfortunately, this memory only works for me when it comes to learning languages.
