This morning I got up, got dressed, and took the dog for his morning poo. Then I hung out the laundry. Then I went to do the weekly grocery shop, and bought my weekly train ticket.
I had a friend sleepover the night before, drove to the McDonalds in the next town for breakfast, took the train to the provincial capital of Mito, had lunch in a cute Italian cafe hidden in the back corner of a 5th floor of a department store, did an hour of karaoke where I sang a whole bunch of anime theme songs, went to church for the first time since July and discovered that everyone else there was Filipino, read 70 pages of a good book in Starbucks for an hour, bought a magic-picture-with-heat mug, took the train back up into the countryside, bought dinner at the convenience store, and got rained on quite a bit, which may or may not be related to the typhoon hitting the coast right now.
Nothing nearly so interesting! I'm about 50 pages off finishing the third Temeraire book, so I'll probably read that, then go to bed. I don't have 4 or 5 yet, so I'll have to look into getting those.
Oh, you got further than I did. :) I read the first two books, but while the universe was really interestingly designed, the period-correct nautical adventure writing style never really seemed to catch me. What happens in the third book? More of Laurence and Temeraire fighting Napoleon?
Highly unlikely. I'm up in the mountains on the landlocked side of the prefecture, so while the people on the coast'll get the brunt of it, I only get more rain than usual.
So far it's an overland trek home through Asia and Europe and some fighting in Prussia. I'm getting slightly twitchy/annoyed because I want something good to happen for them. And Laurence and Temeraire are terribly interesting, but I'd like to get back to seeing some of the earlier characters again.

regretted driving 11 hours on Saturday to Mackay in my brothers hilux.
Boarded a plane at 8am, flew on plane to Brisbane. Went for lunch at Manly, fish and chips, browsed through the markets.
Dyed my hair (dark brown), played Singstar, cooked dinner, hoorayed that I am on holidays.
You?
